Conmy Hat Trick Surges Muskies to Win

Sioux City, IA - Behind a hat trick from Ryan Conmy the Sioux City Musketeers defeated the Des Moines Buccaneers 7-2.
The Musketeers found the scoreboard first when Colin Kessler scored late in the first period at the 18:03 mark for his fourth of the season.
Des Moines responded with a pair of goals in the second period. Braden Rourke tied the game at one 4:28 into the second. The Bucs took the lead 13:53 into the period one Lubomir Kupco's ninth goal of the season and went ahead 2-1.
From there Sioux City scored six unanswered goals. They scored quick back-to-back goals at the end of the second starting with Ty Hanson who netted his fourth of the season by punching the puck past the net minder and tied the game at 19:09 in the second. Only forty seconds later Finn Loftus scored on a breakaway goal to give Sioux City a 3-2 lead with only eleven seconds left in the period.
In the third the Muskies took full control of the game. Ryan Conmy began his hat trick quest by punching in a loose puck for his 20th goal of the season. Less than a minute later after the Musketeers goal leader scored, Jakub Kopecky notched his first with the Muskies to give them a 5-2 lead.
Conmy then finished his hat trick with a goal at the 10:34 mark of the period and at the 17:08 mark of the period. The hat trick was the first of the season for a Musketeer and Conmy finished the night with 22 goals on the season.
Axel Mangbo earned the victory as he stopped 18 of 20 shots in net for the Musketeers.
The Musketeers (18-13-2-3) continue their three-game weekend on Saturday when they travel to Lincoln to face the Stars with puck drop scheduled for 6:05 pm. They also face the Stars on Sunday at 3:05 pm back at home at the Tyson Events Center.
