Dickey-Stephens Park, North Little Rock, AR - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Arkansas Travelers announce that the entire 2009 coaching staff will return for the 2010 season. Bobby Magallanes will manage the Travs for the fourth season joined by pitching coach Ken Patterson , hitting coach Francisco Matos and athletic trainer Eric Munson.

Magallanes becomes just the ninth manager in Travs history to work at least four seasons. As the only field manager the Travs have known since the opening of Dickey-Stephens Park in 2007, Magallanes joins Jim Riggleman (1985-1988), Doc Prothro (1935-1938), Kid Eberfeld (1918-1924) and Mike Finn (1901-1904) as men who opened four consecutive seasons at the helm of the 109-year old franchise.

The Travs completed a 61-79 season under Magallanes in 2009 and own a 167-231 record during his three years. They struggled to a last place finish in the first of the 2009 season at 28-42, but moved into third place in the second half with a 33-37 mark. Only eventual Texas League champion Midland played better over the last five months of the season than the Travs, who were 21-16 in August and September.

Fifteen of Magallanes's players have made their way to the Major Leagues since he took over the Travs managerial position in 2007. The club also won the 2008 Texas League Championship under his guidance.

Before coming to Arkansas, Magallanes managed the Angels' single-A Cedar Rapids affiliate for three seasons. In six years as a manager in the Angels organization, Magallanes owns a 372-444 record with two playoff appearances.

Patterson has served three of his four years with the Angels organization as the Travs pitching coach. His staff won the overall Texas League team ERA title at 3.75 and allowed the lowest hit total in the circuit. Patterson was voted the 2009 recipient of the Mike Coolbaugh Award as the top coach in the Texas League. A veteran of 224 appearances in the major leagues, Patterson joined the Travs initially in 2006 for the club's last season at Ray Winder Field. The Waco, Texas native coached at Rancho Cucamonga in 2007 and returned to Arkansas for 2008. He began his coaching career in the Philadelphia Phillies organization in 2005.

Matos's second year as the Travs hitting coach will be his fourth in the Angels organization following stints at Rancho Cucamonga and rookie-level Orem. The native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic enjoyed a 16-year playing career which included 14 games with the Oakland A's in 1994.

The upcoming season will be Munson's third as the athletic trainer for the Travs. He has spent five previous years as an athletic trainer in the Angels organization including stints at Cedar Rapids (2005-2006) and Rancho Cucamonga (2007).
