JONATHAN BORNSTEIN AND SACHA KLJESTAN INCLUDED ON U.S. ROSTER FOR UPCOMING WORLD CUP QUALIFIER: Chivas USA players Jonathan Bornstein and Sacha Kljestan were named to head coach Bob Bradley's 20-man squad for the United States National Team's upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Guatemala, to take place this Wednesday, Nov. 19, in Commerce City, Colo. The U.S. has already secured passage to the final round of CONCACAF Qualifying, and this is the final match of the semifinal phase. Bornstein and Kljestan were both part of the last U.S. National Team group that fell 2-1 on the road to Trinidad & Tobago on Oct.15. Kljestan played 90 minutes in the match, while Bornstein, with the U.S. for the first time since 2007, was an unused substitute. Bornstein, a native of Los Alamitos, Calif., has made a total of 12 appearances with the U.S. National Team, while Kljestan, originally from Huntington Beach, has been with the U.S. for each World Cup Qualifier so far in 2008, and has 11 appearances with the U.S. in his career.

SHAVAR THOMAS IN JAMAICA SQUAD FOR WORLD CUP QUALIFIER VS. CANADA: Chivas USA defender Shavar Thomas is in Jamaica's 22-man squad for the team's FIFA World Cup Qualifier this Wednesday against Canada in Kingston, Jamaica. The match is critical for the Reggae Boyz, who need a win to have a chance of qualifying for the final phase of CONCACAF Qualifying. Thomas, who has made a total of 12 appearances with the senior Jamaican National Team, was a part of Jamaica's squad for the Reggae Boyz' last four World Cup Qualifiers. Jamaica, with seven points from five games, currently trails Mexico (10 pts) and Honduras (9 pts), who will square off in the group's other match on Wednesday.

CHIVAS USA TO BREAK CAMP THIS WEEK, RECONVENE IN LATE JANUARY: Chivas USA players will be in on Wednesday and Thursday of this week for season-end physicals and team meetings before breaking camp until preseason for the 2009 MLS campaign, expected to start in late January. Media should contact Chivas USA Communications (contact information above) in advance to request specific player interviews this week, as not all players will be available at The Home Depot Center on Wednesday/Thursday.

JORGE FLORES WITH U.S. U-20 NATIONAL TEAM IN SPAIN: Chivas USA midfielder Jorge Flores is currently with the United States Under-20 National Team in Madrid for a week-long international training camp, running from Nov. 15-23. The team will play three friendlies in Spain, starting this Wednesday against a youth team from Real Madrid, and followed by youth teams from Atlético Madrid and Rayo Vallecano on Nov. 20 and Nov. 22, respectively. Flores played in 11 regular-season MLS matches for Chivas USA this year, starting six and scoring three goals. So far in 2008, the Anaheim, Calif. native has been with the U.S. U-20's for tournaments including the Copa Chivas (Mexico), the Campos Verdes International Tournament (Portugal), and the Milk Cup (Northern Ireland). In May, Flores was with the team for a pair of games in England against English Premier League reserve teams, where he had a goal and an assist. Flores has played in more games (8) with the U.S. U-20's this year than any other player.

YOUTH UPDATE: CHIVAS USA U-16'S EARN WIN AND TIE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA: The Chivas USA Youth Teams traveled to Northern California this past weekend for a pair of matches against West Conference foes. The Chivas USA U-16's went undefeated, defeating Mustang SC of Danville on Saturday by a 2-1 score, before tying the Santa Cruz County Breakers 1-1 on Sunday. The U-18's also beat Mustang, winning 3-0, but fell a day later to Santa Cruz by a 3-2 score. The Chivas USA U-18's remain in first place, with a record of 8-3-0 (W-L-T) in the SoCal Division of the Development Academy's Western Conference, thanks to a recent seven-match winning streak. The U-16's sit in third place in their division with a 4-4-3 record (W-L-T). The teams are now off until the second annual Development Academy Winter Showcase from Dec. 5-8 at the Lancaster National Soccer Center in Lancaster, Calif., where they will face the Chicago Fire on Dec. 5, followed by Seacoast United on Sunday, Dec. 7 and the Colorado Rapids on Monday, Dec. 8. 'KICK-IT' THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22 AT BOYLE HEIGHTS SPORTS CENTER: 'Kick-it at the Park L.A. with Chivas USA' continues this Saturday, Nov. 22, with a clinic at the Boyle Heights Sports Center, located at 933 S. Mott Street, Los Angeles, 90023. A series of four, 90-minute clinics kicks off at 9:00 a.m., followed by clinics at 10:45 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Run in conjunction with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, 'Kick-it' is a series of clinics that emphasize physical fitness, sports, and education for as many as 400 children at each of 40 locations throughout the year. A five-dollar fee gets participants 90 minutes of instruction, a voucher for a future Chivas USA game, a t-shirt, soccer ball, and Certificate of Completion. Most recently, Chivas USA held a clinic at the Westwood Recreation Center at 1350 Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles, 90025 on Nov. 15.
