Chiefs SS Walters Named to All-Star Team

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are pleased to announce that shortstop Zach Walters has been named to the 2013 International League All-Star Team. He will represent the IL in Reno on Wednesday, July 17th.

The 23-year-old Walters has hit 18 home runs in 77 games this season, his first full year in Triple-A. His 40 extra-base hits stands fourth in the International League, three off the league lead. In 26 games since the end of May, Walters is hitting .316 with eight homers and 20 RBIs.
