Chiefs Kick off Four Nights in a Row of Fireworks as Part of Final Weekend
The Syracuse Chiefs continue their final homestand of the season with an action-packed weekend at NBT Bank Stadium. Thursday night's series finale against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs starts a stretch of four consecutive nights of postgame fireworks extravaganzas. Check out these final weekend promotions for the next five days against the IronPigs and Buffalo Bisons before the 2017 season wraps up.
Thursday, August 31st (6:35 p.m. vs. Lehigh Valley) - It's Latino Night on the final $1 Thursday of the season. Celebrate with Latino-themed music all night and an appearance from five-time Major League All-Star and former Syracuse Chief, Tony Fernandez, presented by Pawn King. Fernandez will participate in pregame on-field festivities and will sign autographs following the first pitch.
Thursday also marks the first of four straight postgame fireworks extravaganzas. As always it is a $1 Thursday presented by 95X. Fans can enjoy Hofmann Hot Dogs and Coca-Cola products for just $1, and Coors, LaBatt, Saranac, and 1911 Hard Cider products for just $2.
Friday, September 1st (7:05 p.m. vs. Buffalo Bisons) - As the Chiefs open a four-game series against the Bisons, NBT Bank Stadium hosts Domestic Violence Awareness Night presented by Melvin and Melvin Law Firm. Proceeds from the 50/50 raffle will go to the Vera House to support its mission to prevent, respond to and partner to end domestic and sexual violence and other forms of abuse.
As always on Friday, it's a Fireworks Friday, so stick around after the game for another fireworks extravaganza presented by 93Q.
Saturday, September 2nd (7:05 p.m. vs. Buffalo) - Saturday is the Chiefs' second annual Community Night at NBT Bank Stadium. We celebrate everything the Syracuse community has to offer along with Destiny USA and Visit Syracuse. The first 1,000 fans will receive a "Mystery Bobblehead" upon entering the stadium. It's our last bobblehead giveaway of the year, and fans will receive a bobblehead ranging from Star Wars characters to Game of Thrones characters to baseball players or NFL greats, and a whole lot more. "Mystery Bobblehead" day will also help raise money for the Syracuse Chiefs Charitable Foundation by allowing fans to trade their bobblehead for different mystery bobblehead by donating $5.00. In addition, fans who are not one of the 1st 1,000 through the gates will be able to receive a bobblehead with a $5.00 donation to the Syracuse Chiefs Charitable Foundation.
One dollar from every standard game ticket Saturday night will be donated to Maureen's Hope. Maureen's Hope offers practical support and assistance to people facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis or other life altering diseases, and has been working with the Chiefs on its Beads of Courage program. Chiefs players wore beads during batting practice one day earlier in the season and wrote inspirational messages on cards that accompany the beads. In turn, the beads will be given to hospitalized children that are going through cancer treatment or some other serious illness to add to their Beads of Courage.
We will finish off the night with another fireworks extravaganza. Spread the word and let's fill Chiefsville in an easy way to give back to our community.
Sunday, September 3rd (7:05 p.m. vs. Buffalo) - It's a special 7:05 p.m. Sunday start time for the penultimate home game of the season. Celebrate the end of the summer and the return of school with Back to School Day. The first 1,000 fans 12 & under will receive a Chiefs-themed lunch box presented by NYS 529 College Savings Program.
Sunday is also the final NBT Bank Family Sunday where Kids Eat Free! Kids 12 and under will receive a voucher for a Hofmann hot dog, a Coca-Cola fountain drink, a popcorn, and a Perry's ice cream cup. And we'll conclude up the night with the final fireworks extravaganza of the season.
