Chicago Sky Acquire Second-Round Draft Pick from Dallas Wings
February 9, 2021 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) - Chicago Sky News Release
CHICAGO - The Chicago Sky has acquired the 16th overall selection in the second round of the upcoming 2021 WNBA Draft from the Dallas Wings, it was announced today. In exchange, Dallas received Chicago's future second-round 2022 pick.
"This was an important year to have two picks," said Sky General Manager and Head Coach James Wade. "We felt it added depth to the end of our bench, which is going to be vital moving forward, especially with the year that we have where the makeup of our team has changed."
The trade follows the Sky's blockbuster signing of two-time WNBA MVP forward Candace Parker, which the team announced last week.
Chicago now holds both first- and second-round selections, with the No. 7 and No. 16 overall picks in the 2021 WNBA Draft.
