Chicago Fire Travel to Face Philadelphia Union, Host San Jose Earthquakes

The Chicago Fire (4-6-2, 14 points) travel to face the Philadelphia Union (4-5-3, 15 points) for a midweek clash at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pa. on Wednesday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. CT (ESPN+/Univision Deportes Chicago 1200AM). Coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. CT with a live pregame show on ESPN+ presented by CIBC.

Three days later the Men in Red return home to host the San Jose Earthquakes (2-7-3, 9 points) at Toyota Park on June 2 at 7:30 p.m. CT (ESPN+/Univision Deportes Chicago 1200AM). Coverage begins at 7:15 p.m. CT with a live pregame show on ESPN+ presented by CIBC.

CHICAGO FIRE at PHILADELPHIA UNION

The Fire hold an 8-7-5 record in regular season matches against the Union, including a 2-5-2 record in matches played on the road.

Fire head coach Veljko Paunović concluded his playing career as a member of the Union. In 2011, Paunović scored three goals and added three assists in 17 appearances.

Union head coach Jim Curtin was a member of the Fire for the first seven seasons of his professional career. Curtin appeared in 151 regular season matches for the Men in Red and won the 2003 and 2006 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championships. In a special ceremony, Curtin retired as a member of the Fire on April 4, 2014.

David Accam spent the first three seasons of his MLS career as a member of the Fire. From 2015-17, Accam scored 33 goals and tallied 15 assists in 58 regular season matches before being traded to the Union prior to the start of the 2018 season.

CHICAGO FIRE vs. SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES

The Fire are 15-10-11 all-time in regular season matchups against the Earthquakes, and 9-2-6 in matches played at home.

Fire forward Alan Gordon was a member of the Earthquakes from 2011-14. He scored 18 goals and added 10 assists in 64 league matches during his time in the Bay Area.

Earthquakes forward Quincy Amarikwa appeared in 60 regular season games for the Fire from 2013-15 and scored 11 goals and tallied six assists before being traded to the Earthquakes in June 2015.
