CFL Player Discipline Update
June 14, 2019 - Canadian Football League (CFL) News Release
Following a review, Greg Ellingson has been fined an undisclosed amount for his role in an incident that occurred last December. Ellingson was charged with failing to provide an adequate breath sample into a roadside screening device. Ellingson, who has pleaded not guilty to the charge, was a member of the Ottawa REDBLACKS at the time. He now plays for the Edmonton Eskimos.
Ottawa REDBLACKS defensive back Jonathan Rose has agreed to pay a fine as part of a settlement of his grievance against the CFL. The grievance challenged the league's decision to suspend him after he made contact with an official during last year's Eastern Final in Ottawa.
