(Lexington, KY)--Argenis Reyes had three hits and an RBI Monday night, as the Lake County Captains defeated the Lexington Legends 6-4 at Applebee's Park.

The Captains (14-10) scored twice in the seventh inning against Paul Estrada (1-3) to erase a 4-3 deficit. Reyes led off the inning with a single and stole second. Wyatt Toregas drove home Reyes with a one-out RBI single. After a walk and a base hit loaded the bases, Marshall Szabo hit a slow roller to second. The Legends attempted to turn the double play, but Szabo beat the relay at first allowing Toregas to score the go-ahead run and the Captains led 5-4.

Reyes added an insurance run with an RBI single in the eighth of former Miami of Ohio pitcher Chad Reineke.

Chris Niesel (2-1) picked up the win for the Captains, going six innings and allowing four runs. He got relief help from T.J. Burton and Scott Roehl, who each threw a scoreless inning. Kieran Mattison came on in the ninth and retired the side 1-2-3 to post his fifth save in five chances.

The Captains snapped a five-game road losing streak with the win, and have a chance to split the four-game series with the Legends (16-9). Despite the win, the Captains remain 2 1/2 games out of first place behind Hagerstown, which won 6-5 over Kannapolis.

Lake County got off to a good start in the game, notching two first inning runs off starter Ryan McKeller on RBI singles by Josh Noviskey and Szabo. Lexington came back to take the lead with three in the third off Niesel.

The Captains and Legends will finish the series on Tuesday evening at 7:05 (WELW AM 1330).
