'Caps Face Final Exam in Lansing

West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
The West Michigan Whitecaps will play their biggest game of the season on Friday night in Lansing against the Lansing Lugnuts. The Lugnuts defeated the Whitecaps, 3-1, on Thursday night to even the best-of-three series at a game apiece. What this means is that the winner of Friday's game moves on to the second round of the league playoffs - and the loser is done for the season.
On Thursday, the Lugnuts scored all the runs they would need in their first at-bat on two hits and three walks off of 'Caps starter Chris Steinborn.
The Whitecaps made it a one-run game in the sixth on Eric Rodland's RBI double but he would be the last West Michigan batter to reach base in the game.
Jordan Tata will start on the mound for the 'Caps in Friday's 7:05 crucial contest at Oldsmobile Park.
If the Whitecaps win on Friday, they will advance to the division finals against the South Bend Silver Hawks in a series that would start on Saturday night at Fifth Third Ballpark (6:35 PM).
