Calling All Comic Book Fans

March 22, 2019 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa - Christian Bale. Michael Keaton. Adam West. If you're ready to argue vigorously that any of these three is the only real Batman, then you'll want to be at the Waterloo Black Hawks' first ever Comic Con Night on Tuesday, April 2nd when the Hawks host the Sioux City Musketeers at 7:05 p.m.

Whether you like the new movies, remember some of the classic TV shows, or think the stories are told best in print, bring your enthusiasm to Party Town. Those who come in costume will have the chance to take the ice at intermission. The best look - by acclamation of Black Hawks fans - will win tickets for Waterloo's entire run during the Clark Cup Playoffs.

"There is an unprecedented amount of enthusiasm for superheroes, and graphic novels are accepted as an art form today," said Black Hawks Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Greene. "We hope to see Spiderman, Iron Man, Thor, and all of our fans' other favorites."

The dynamic duo of Rod Con and Limited Edition Comics will help to set the mood during the Black Hawks' Comic Con Night.

Limited Edition is located at 2225 College Street on The Hill in Cedar Falls. They will provide free comic books while supplies last to fans in attendance.

Rod Con is an annual free mini comic book convention hosted by the University of Northern Iowa's Rod Library. This year's event will be on Saturday, April 13th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring a costume contest, panel discussions, and appearances by artists Kat Leyh and Clara Meath. During the Black Hawks' Comic Con Night, Rod Con representatives will bring information about their event, as well as providing the questions for a trivia contest at the arena.

Tickets are available now for the Black Hawks' matchup with the Musketeers. Fans aged 21 and over can also enjoy $2 Coors Light during the game. To order seats, visit or call the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680.
