
Burn Signs Dallas Native Philip Salyer

DALLAS - The Dallas Burn announced today that the team has signed defender Philip Salyer as a Developmental Player through an MLS Supplemental Draft. Salyer, 22, spent the last year with the Werder Bremen reserve team of the Bundesliga, signing on January 17, 2002. Prior to joining Bremem, Salyer spent two years at the University of Maryland. From 2000-01, he started 40 matches for the Terrapins, scoring six goals and adding six assists for 18 points.
Salyer, who played for the US U-20 National Team and is in the player pool for the U-23 side, played high school soccer at Northwest in Trophy Club, posting career totals of 46 goals and 54 assists. Additionally, he played for both Dallas Inter and the Dallas Comets. Salyer will wear #22 for the Burn.
