Brantford Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONT. - Charlie Graham made 32 saves to record the win and led the Hamilton Bulldogs (8-14-1-0) to a 4-2 victory over the Ottawa 67's (12-9-1-0).
The Bulldogs were looking to get some revenge on the Ottawa 67's after having been outscored 11-1 in their two previous meetings this season.
Bulldogs forward Matt Luff got the revenge tour started just 2:03 into the first period when he picked up the loose puck and circled around the net for the wrap-around goal. Matthew Strome and Cole Candella picked up the assists on Luff's 4th of the year.
The 'Dogs would keep the pressure on and would be rewarded for their efforts when Stephen Harper tipped home a Ben Gleason point shot on the power-play. Mason Marchment would also get an assist on Harper's 14th goal of the season at 7:28.
Hamilton would pick up right where they left off early in the second as a great individual effort by forward Niki Petti resulted in a wrist shot from the top of the right circle that eluded 67's starter Liam Herbst. Luff would record an assist on the goal at 1:19.
That would be it for Herbst as he would be replaced by Leo Lazarev after making 13 saves on 16 Bulldogs shots.
Ottawa would register a goal before the period was out when Trent Mallette tipped home a Connor Warnholtz wrist shot at 15:41. Jacob Middleton also got an assist on Mallette's 4th of the year.
Hamilton would restore their three goal lead early in the third as Brandon Saigeon dug the puck free and slammed it home for his 2nd of the year. Michael Cramarossa would register the only assist on the goal at 2:07.
Ottawa would pull back within two at 17:23 as a strong 67's forecheck led to a Middleton wrist shot from just inside the point that beat Graham high. Austin Keating and Artur Tyanulin would get the assists.
Ottawa would get no closer however and the 'Dogs would hang on for their eighth win of the year.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Thursday, November 26th when they make their first ever visit to the North Bay Memorial Gardens to take on the North Bay Battalion. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. The 'Dogs then head to Sudbury to take on the Wolves Friday, November 27th at 7:00 p.m. Hamilton then wraps up their 3 games in 3 nights weekend with a home game against the Mississauga Steelheads. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m.
