Bulldogs Knock off Top Ranked Greyhounds

February 11, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs won the first installment of the "Battle of Conference Leaders" with a convincing 5-2 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Sunday afternoon at FirstOntario Centre..

It was a pretty tight checking start to the game with the Bulldogs getting on the board thanks to a Ben Gleason (6) goal just before the mid-way mark of the 1st period. It took the Greyhounds more than ten minutes to get their first shot on goal, with shot number 2 tying the game on the power-play 1-1.

The Bulldogs took over the game in the 2nd period with four unanswered goals from Isaac Nurse (13), Matthew Strome (30), Will Bitten (19) and Mackenzie Entwistle (8) to take a 5-1 lead after forty minutes.

Hamilton did a great job in shutting down the highest scoring team in the OHL in the 3rd period allowing a late goal by the Hounds to make the final 5-2.
