Buffalo Wild Wings Renews Partnership

The Danbury Whalers and Buffalo Wild Wings of Danbury, Connecticut are proud to announce that they have renewed their promotional partnership for the 2013-14 season.

Buffalo Wild Wings with over 750 national franchises, opened in 2010 on 26 Backus Avenue in Danbury. Evan Manes and group, Four M Capital, the owners of the Danbury franchise, own nine franchises throughout the New York - Metro area.

The main elements include Buffalo Wild Wings offering an in game contest where fans will have a chance to take home 6 complimentary Buffalo Wild Wings as well as the Buffalo Wild Wings logo featured on the Whalers jersey.

Also returning will be the "Meet the Team" event which has been a standard event on the first night of training camp the previous three seasons. This function is held at Buffalo Wild Wings and features a great spread of wings and beverages for the fans.

Teacher Appreciation Night is back too. On a TBA night this season, school teachers throughout the region are invited to a Whalers game courtesy of Buffalo Wild Wings. As part of this night all teachers will be treated to 6 complimentary wings and a beverage of their choice at the Danbury Buffalo Wild Wings location prior to the game

Two new additions this year will be a Danbury Whalers Wing Review and a Kids Club Event where members will be able to make their own Wing Sauce with the Whalers players.

The Danbury Whalers Wing Review will feature video reviews throughout the season where the Whalers players will sample, taste, and offer their opinions on each of the Buffalo Wild Wings flavored wings.

Buffalo Wild Wings Teacher Appreciation Night

The Danbury Whalers and Buffalo Wild Wings of Danbury will again be working together on a great promotion for all area school teachers - Teacher Appreciation Night.

On a selected to be determined game night this season, Buffalo Wild Wings extends an offer to all area teachers. Receive a complimentary ticket to that night's Whalers game and enjoy a complimentary pre-game meal of wings and a beverage of your choice at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Whalers Night with the Danbury Westerners Wednesday, June 26th at 6:30

For the fourth consecutive season, the Danbury Whalers and Danbury Westerners will honor each other's organization at a home game. On Wednesday, June 26th at 6:30 PM at Rogers Park in Danbury, when the Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) take on the Sanford Mainers, it will be Danbury Whalers Night at the park.

The night is part of a continuing partnership where the Danbury Westerners and Danbury Whalers work towards promoting each other's season for the overall development of the Danbury sports landscape.

Throughout the night there will be prizes, contests, trivia, Danbury Whalers contest sign-ups, and the ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by member of the Danbury Whalers organization.

Commented Westerners, President, Paul Schaeffer, "Whalers Night is always a fun night at the park. This is what the City of Danbury is all about, coming together and pulling for each other to do great. We look forward to hosting the Whalers this year...4 years together...that's pretty awesome to think about."

Tickets for the event are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and kids under 12 are free.

Whalers Draft Party At TK's American Cafe

The Danbury Whalers have announced that they will be holding their draft party for the Inaugural Federal Hockey League College / Junior Hockey Draft at TK's American Café on 255 White Street in Danbury.

The draft begins at 7:30 PM on Thursday, June 20th, but fans are invited to stop by at 7 PM. The Danbury Whalers management, coaches, and staff will be in attendance for the event. Danbury Whalers Head Coach / Director of Hockey Operations Phil Esposito will be on hand to discuss the teams' draft picks and give an overview on the off season recruiting efforts.

Each member team will be holding their own draft day event in their city with team's reporting picks via phone call to the league office. Draft results will be posted on facebook and twitter for each team as well.

The draft is slated for 4 rounds.

Players eligible for the draft include all collegiate & junior players who have completed their eligibility.

Teams drafting a player will retain that player's signing rights regardless of whether that player signs with the franchise.

Annual Danbury Police vs. Fire Department Game Sunday, June 23rd at 3 PM

The Danbury Whalers would like to pass along information to our fans on a great event at the Danbury Ice Arena on Sunday, June 23rd at 3 PM.

It's the Annual Danbury Police vs. Danbury Fire Department Hockey Game. As they like to call it, they say it is good guys playing bad hockey.

Stop down and check it out, while supporting a great event that goes to a lot of great causes.

Danbury Whalers Announce 4th Annual Summer All-Star Game

The Danbury Whalers have announced that Saturday, June 22 at 7:00 PM at the Danbury Ice Arena, the puck will drop for the Danbury Whalers 4th Annual Summer All-Star Game.

The game is at the conclusion of the Danbury Whalers 2-Day Free Agent Camp on June 21st & 22nd. The entire weekend will feature over 500 minutes of on ice action with players competing to earn spots in the October Training Camp.

On Saturday, June 22nd, the day gets underway at 11 am, workouts and game action will take place throughout the day with the last session finishing up at 1:50 pm. The workouts are open to the public, the admission for the All-Star Game is $5 - the event is free for season ticket holders.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the Danbury Whalers at 973-713-7547 or at the ticket office on the day of the game.

Danbury Whalers representatives from the organization will be on hand to discuss the upcoming season and the various ticket plans.
