Brett Eibner Named Texas League Player of the Week

Naturals' outfielder Brett Eibner was named the Texas League Player of the Week for the week of April 15-21, 2013, Texas League President Tom Kayser announced Monday.

Eibner went 10-21 (.476) in five games last week with two doubles, two home runs and three RBI. Eibner also scored six runs for the Naturals. He had a pair of three-hit games on April 15 against Frisco and April 18 against Tulsa, hitting two singles and a home run in each game.

In the last week, Eibner has raised his batting average by 86 points. The Woodlands, Texas native and former Arkansas Razorback has fared well against left-handed pitching this season, batting .300 with a home run, RBI and two runs scored against southpaws.

Eibner is the first Natural to win Texas League Player of the Week since Wil Myers accomplished the feat during the week of April 23-29, 2012.

Asher Wojciechowski of the Corpus Christi Hooks was named the league's Pitcher of the Week.

The Naturals begin an eight-game road trip tonight against the Springfield Cardinals and will return to Arvest Ballpark on Tuesday, April 30.
