Boston Breakers News Release

After dropping their first game of the season, the Boston Breakers (1-1-0) head to Florida this weekend, looking to take three points from magicJack.

Trying to get back on track after losing their home opener, 2-1, last Sunday to the Western New York Flash, the Breakers had a solid week of practice sessions leading up to their departure to Florida.

"The team has trained well this week. The five USA players were in Florida with the women's national team, but our other players trained well," Breakers Head Coach Tony DiCicco said. "Magicjack has exceptional personnel all over the field, so although the preseason game gave us a glimpse of what they do, they will certainly have the advantage of scouting us in the first two games, and they have not played a game yet. We expect another difficult match."

No one has seen magicJack in action outside of a few preseason matches. The Breakers played magicJack once during the preseason and lost, 3-2. But these are far different magicJack and Breakers teams since that mid-March match.

Aside from Abby Wambach, no other members of the U.S. Women's National Team played for either side during that scrimmage. MagicJack has eight players currently training in Florida with the USWNT - Wambach, Christie Rampone, Shannon Boxx, Lindsay Tarpley, Becky Sauerbrunn, Meghan Klingenberg, Jill Loyden, and Hope Solo. Solo will not play Saturday. She's currently serving a one-game suspension for public comments she made last season, criticizing the referees.
