Brazdeikis' 36 Points Overshadowed In Slim Loss To Drive

WHITE PLAINS, NY - New York Knicks assignee, Ignas Brazdeikis, scored a game-high 36 points as the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, were edged by the Grand Rapids Drive, 96-94, Monday evening at the Westchester County Center.

The Knicks (1-3) toted a six-point lead at halftime, 46-40, commanded by Brazdeikis who credited 20 points on 60-percent shooting. The Drive (4-2) were hampered by a lowly three-point showing going 1-for-13 through the first 24 minutes and were contained to just 39.5-percent from the field. Westchester connected on 52.8-percent of its looks.

The tide turned out of the break with Grand Rapids outscoring the hosts, 34-22, in the third quarter. Drive Two-Way player, Jordan Bone poured in four treys seamlessly as a vast contrast to the team's first half shooting. In the window, the Drive shot 56.5-percent from the field keeping the Knicks at 35-percent.

Both clubs remained in striking distance of one another in the final segment evidenced by the 10 lead changes, the last lead change coming on a go-ahead basket from Pistons assignee, Sekou Doumbouya, at the 2:42 mark. The scoring margin stayed within a two-possession game until the horn sounded.

Brazdeikis added six rebounds and one assist to his line. Returning player, Andrew White III, scored 16 points and went 4-for-5 from deep. Two-Way player, Kadeem Allen, pocketed 14 points, team-high eight dimes, and four rebounds. Affiliate player, Kenny Wooten, put up 14 points and four rejections.

Doumbouya ended with 28 points, five rebounds and two assists while Bone finished with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists. Affiliate player Tra-Deon Hollins dished a game-high nine helpers.

The Knicks host Grand Rapids again Wednesday, November 20 at the Westchester County Center at 7 PM ET.
