Booyah Stumble Late, Fall to Bombers

Green Bay Rockers News Release
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. - The Green Bay Booyah fell to the Battle Creek Bombers on Wednesday night at Capital Credit Union Park, 9-8.
Green Bay fell behind early as a 3-0 jump by the Bombers put the Booyah at an early disadvantage. The Booyah were able to even it up in the bottom of the second inning however as a two-run home run by Tristin Garcia (Western Kentucky) and a sacrifice fly and an RBI by Nathan Blasick (West Virginia) leveled it.
The Bombers would punch right back with another four in the top of the third inning to break the game open.
But Green Bay slowly chipped at that four-run deficit. In the fifth, Garcia picked up a third run batted in when he hit a sacrifice fly that scored Nadir Lewis (Princeton). In the sixth, with Lewis stealing second, the Bombers catcher threw the ball to second high and that allowed Blake Salamon (Northwood) to score.
In the eighth inning, everything started to swing towards the Booyah. With Seth DeNoyer (Indiana University-Kokomo) standing at second after a passed ball as a pinch-runner for Blasick, Elias Flowers (Jacksonville) moved him to third. Lewis then picked up a single that scored DeNoyer to make it a one-run deficit.
After stealing second during Dayson Croes' (Quincy) at-bat, Lewis was able to score when Croes hit a single to left. Croes advanced to second on the throw. Brendan Ryan (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) then came to the dish as a pinch-hitter and he hit an RBI double to right that scored Croes to give Green Bay the lead.
But in the ninth, the Bombers were able to take advantage of an error to start the inning to tie the game. They eventually took a 9-8 lead after a single to center field. The Booyah were unable to answer back, going down 1-2-3 in the home half of the ninth.
The Booyah will welcome the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters on Thursday as they open a home-and-home series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm. There will be a performance by the Infalatamaniacs. It will also be Thirsty Thursday with Bud Light and 101 WIXX. Half price taps through the end of the fifth inning. Fans can also take advantage of the $25 Bud Light Party Patio ticket.
