FRISCO, TX, (May 4, 2017) - The Texas Legends and Head Coach Bob MacKinnon have agreed to a contract extension which will keep MacKinnon in Frisco through the 2018-19 season. MacKinnon holds the League record for NBA Call-Ups with 22 total and earned a franchise record last season developing five Legends players to NBA Call-Ups.

"We are excited to welcome Bob back," said Dallas Mavericks General Manager and Legends Owner Donnie Nelson. "We knew that we had a good thing going into last season and he met our expectations. Bob is a perfect fit with our organization and we look forward to seeing his continued success next year."

MacKinnon will begin the offseason leading the NBA Development League Elite Camp in Chicago. He will also be traveling internationally to host coach and youth clinics in China, Mexico, Africa, and beyond.

"Bob does a tremendous job with player development, as was evidenced by our Call-Up list this past season," said Legends President/General Manager Malcolm Farmer. "He brings a level of professionalism that translates well beyond the locker room and our staff and fans are happy to have him back."

Entering the team's eighth season, MacKinnon is the fifth head coach for Texas and packs six D-League seasons into his over-30 year coaching career. In his first season in the D-League, MacKinnon coached the Colorado 14ers to the 2008-09 Championship.
