Valley Blue Sox News Release
The Holyoke Blue Sox just eliminated the Vermont Mountaineers in the semifinals of the NECBL Western Division playoffs!!!! We won tonight behind stellar pitching by Ben Mount 4-1. We captured this series in a two game sweep and now await the winner of the Danbury Westerners vs. Keene Swampbats series winner. That series is tied 1-1 and heading to a decisive game on Friday night in Keene. The Blue Sox will be back in action on Saturday night and the venue is contingent upon the outcome of the other Semifinal series. If Danbury wins, Holyoke would host the Westerners in the Finals of the NECBLs Western Division Finals on Saturday night at MacKenzie at 6:30 pm, if Keene wins, Holyoke would be on the road to open in Keene on Saturday and back to MacKenzie on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm.
Highlights of this game: Trey Mancini two run home run in the ninth to give Holyoke some insurance runs in the ninth inning.
