Blizzard Defeat Sugar Skulls, 42-36, Record Third Win of the Season

GREEN BAY, Wisc. -  On Friday the Green Bay Blizzard hosted the Tucson Sugar Skulls. The game came down to the final minutes of the fourth quarter with Green Bay sealing their win, 42-36, after stopping Tucson from scoring in the last 30 seconds of the game.

Right from the start Tucson took the lead with Mike Jones running the ball in to bring the Sugar Skulls their first points of the night. Green Bay responded just three minutes later with Keshaun Taylor catching a five-yard pass from Damion May. The rest of the first quarter went scoreless for both teams.

However, it did not take long for the Sugar Skulls to regain their lead, with quarterback Demry Croft scoring just ten seconds into the second quarter. Wide reciever Eric Thomas Jr. brought the game back to a tie score when he scored his first touchdown of the night. Tucson did lead at half 28-20 with Green Bay missing their extra point for their final touchdown that half, and Tucson scoring a touchdown in the final 30 seconds of the half.

Green Bay looked to come out of the gates strong in the second half. Eric Thomas Jr. scored his second and third touchdown of the night in the third quarter, giving Green Bay the lead for the first time in the game. Tucson took the lead 33-28 going into the final quarter.

Henry Nell kicked a 18-yard field goal extending Green Bay's lead to 36-28. Tucson responded with just under six minutes left in the game, leaving the score tied once again. It did not take long for Green Bay to reclaim the lead for the final time of the night. Green Bay was able to prevent Tucson from scoring the remainder of the game. Leaving the final score 42-36 with Green Bay coming out on top.
