Blades Acquire Stevenson from Americans

SASKATOON, SK - The Saskatoon Blades have acquired 2001-born forward Blake Stevenson from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2023 WHL Entry Draft.

"Blake is a versatile forward we have liked for some time," said general manager Colin Priestner, "Being an assistant captain for the Americans as an 18-year-old shows he can help not only on the ice, but in providing leadership to our young players during this unique season ahead."

Stevenson, born and raised in Calgary, AB, was selected in the fourth-round (68th) overall by Tri-City in the 2016 WHL Entry Draft. He's spent parts of the last three seasons with the Americans, combining for 18 goals and 16 assists for 34 career points over 88 games.

Last year, the 20-year-old collected career highs in goals (10) and assists (10), including a multi-goal performance against Winnipeg on November 22nd.

As a 2001-born player, Stevenson is eligible to play the 2021-22 season.

The Saskatoon Blades are excited to welcome Blake as the newest member of the organization, and look forward to helping develop his hockey career.
