Radio: WWKB AM 1520, bisons.com
TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in the final game of a two-game series at Alliance Bank Stadium (6:00 p.m.). The Herd needs a win tonight to earn the series split, as the Chiefs collected the 9-1 victory last night. Tonight's game will wrap up the Bisons' season-opening six-game roadtrip. The Bisons are 3-2 so far this trip, thanks to a series victory in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Tomorrow, the Bisons will host the Pawtucket Red Sox in the 2010 Home Opener.
VS. THE CHIEFS: The Bisons are now just 4-13 in their last 17 games against the Syracuse Chiefs. It's the early season matchups that have done the Herd in against the Chiefs. Syracuse won the first eight contests in 2009 en route to winning the season series, 12-4. In 2008, Syracuse won the first five games against Buffalo before winning the season series, 9-7.
ROLLIN' STONE: RHP TOBI STONER gets the start tonight, hoping five days and an hour rain delay don't interrupt his momentum. Stoner looked strong in the season opener on Thursday in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before a lengthy rain delay ended his start early. Stoner allowed just two hits and struck out four in 3.1 innings of work against the Yankees. The rain delay ended Stoner's night, however, and he ended up with a no-decision.
WE LIKE IKE: INF IKE DAVIS continues to be all over the base paths this season. The 23-year old rookie homered and walked in last night's defeat and has reached base at least twice in all five games this season. Davis went 3-4 with two doubles on Thursday before homering and drawing two walks in Friday's contest. On Saturday, Davis drew two more free passes. He then walked and doubled in Sunday's victory. Davis is hitting .375 (6-16) with six walks and a .545 on-base percentage so far this season.
TOP ARMS: One trip through the Bisons' rotation and the team has posted an International League-best 2.00ERA. RHP DILLON GEE and LHP PAT MISCH have led the charge, each tossing six shutout innings in their start. Seven Bisons pitchers are tied for the team lead with four strikeouts this season.
METS UPDATE: The New York Mets (2-4) had an off day yesterday and will start their first roadtrip of the season tonight in Colorado at 8:40 p.m. New York will face the Rockies for three before heading to St. Louis for a three-game series with Cardinals. At 2-4, New York is 3.5 games behind the Phillies in the N.L. East division. New York will turn to RHP JOHN MAINE in tonight's opener against the Rockies.
