August 24, 2011 - Frontier League (FL)
Florence Y'alls News Release

Anthony Bello held Evansville to one run in seven innings but lost a pitcher's duel to the Otters' Kyle Barry as the Freedom fell 2-0 on Wednesday night in Evansville, Ind.

Bello (3-6) struck out a season-high seven and scattered five hits. The Otters ended a scoreless stalemate in the seventh inning. Troy Frazier led off with a double and moved to third on an infield single by Chad Salem. Ryan Still's suicide squeeze to the right side of the infield scored Frazier to give the Otters a 1-0 lead.

Evansville tacked on a run in the eighth inning against reliever Chad Robinson on a sac fly by Steve Caseres to make it 2-0. Barry (4-7) shut out the Freedom on four hits in eight innings. He matched a season-high with nine strikeouts. He retired 13 Freedom hitters in a row from the second inning until the seventh.

The Freedom threatened in the ninth inning against Otters closer Eric Massingham. Jeff Dunbar and Drew Rundle hit back-to-back singles with one out. Justin Holloway popped out and pinch-hitter Juan Valdes grounded out to end the game.

The series rubber match will be on Thursday night at 7:35 p.m. ET. Andy Clark (9-4, 3.74) will pitch for Florence.
