Bees Promote Parker To General Manager

Burlington, IA. - Kim Parker grew up in Burlington and has been with the Bees for 18 seasons starting out as game day staff. Kim has worked in all aspects of organization over the years, from selling programs to merchandise sales. She has been the Assistant General Manager for the past 3 seasons here in Burlington. Parker will be taking over the role her father, Chuck Brockett, held for 18 years.

"Chuck (my dad) and I, love baseball and we have a passion for the Bees," Parker said. "It's fitting to me that I follow in his footsteps." "The Burlington Bees would like to thank Chuck for his 18 years of service for the organization. Chuck's leadership and direction have led to significant improvements to the relationship between the Bees and Minor League Baseball as well as major improvements to Community Field. The Bees wish Chuck and his family the best moving forward."

"I'm absolutely thrilled," Parker said. "It has been a dream of mine for a few years now, to take over for my dad and be named the first female GM for the Bees. My husband and daughter couldn't be happier, they love being here just as much as I do." Parker was named the Midwest League, Rawlings Female Executive of the Year in 2015. The Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year Award is presented to a woman who has made outstanding contributions to her club, her league or to baseball.

"The Bees have confidence in Kim Parker taking over as GM. Kim has developed many relationships within MiLB and the community and will continue to drive improvement of the fan experience and within the Bees organization" Parker holds a Master's Degree in Business Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish both from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.

Parker is homegrown, she has been around this organization for years and understands that the Bees are special in Burlington, being the smallest community to host full season Minor League Baseball. "I'm just looking forward to getting the season started, this is something I have worked for, and I'm ready!"
