Bear Hughes Signs Tryout Agreement with Hershey Bears

Hershey, Pa. - Post Falls native and 2021-22 Spokane Chiefs team captain Bear Hughes has signed a tryout agreement with the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League. Fellow forward Bogdan Trineyev also signed a tryout agreement with the club. Both players are Washington Capitals prospects who were selected in the 2020 NHL Draft.
Hughes, 20, was the Chiefs' leading scorer this season, posting 67 points (24G-43A) and earning U.S. Division Second All-Star Team honors. He was named the 35th captain in team history this past January.
The Bears open the 2022 Calder Cup Playoffs with Game 1 of the best-of-three opening round series versus Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on Friday, May 6.
