Port Huron Flags News Release

Port Huron, MI – The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) announce the partnership between CN Railroad to develop the CN Community Corner. have created a community ticket initiative for charitable groups and community organizations. The CN community ticket program, "Go Cats Go", gives a chance for charities and other groups to attend a Moncton Wildcats home game. The ticket program, launched in February, has already put smiles on the faces of youth and families in the greater Moncton area. During the recent ice storm, more than 20,000 people were forced to live in shelters due to power outages. Some, 70 families got a much-needed evening out to see the Moncton Wildcats play a home game. The same day, due to poor weather conditions, activities at a local high school were cancelled where 20 students from Beijing, China, were on an exchange. Thanks to CN's community ticket program, these students and their hosts were able to attend their very first hockey game! The Beacons have partnered with CN Railroad to award individuals and or group in the community that have strived to make this area a better place to live, by inviting them to enjoy an exciting night at a Beacons hockey game. If you know someone or a group of individuals that have done an outstanding task and are worthy of praise.

The Beacons hit the road tonight to face off against the Flint Generals before returning home for back-to-back games against the Generals on Friday, January 30th and Saturday, January 31st. For a complete schedule log on to the website at www.beaconshockey.com.
