Charleston Battery News Release

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery heads to Orlando, FL this week for a pair of USL PRO American Division games. The Battery faces Orlando City Wednesday night and Saturday night; both games kick off at 7:30 PM. There will be a live radio broadcast of both matches on 1340 AM and via an audio web stream at www.charlestonbattery.com.

The Battery (9-7-5) enters the games in fourth position in the American Division one point behind the third place Richmond Kickers and just three points ahead of the fifth place Charlotte Eagles. Both Charlotte and Richmond have played one game fewer than Charleston.

The top four teams in the American Division advance to the post-season.

The Battery suffered a 1-0 loss to the Rochester Rhinos on Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium ending a four-match unbeaten streak.

Charleston Battery head coach Mike Anhaeuser should have a full squad to select from for the games in Orlando with JC Mack (foot) the only player sidelined through injury.

The Battery has played Orlando twice already this season; losing 1-0 in a second round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match and defeating Orlando 1-0 in a USL PRO game.

Orlando's offense is led by forward Maxwell Griffin who has scored a league best nine goals so far this season. Before turning pro Griffin was a UCLA team-mate of Charleston defender Mike Zaher
