
Bats Lose to Bulls, 6-3

DURHAM, N.C.- The Louisville Bats lost to the Durham Bulls, 6-3 on Sunday night. The Bulls scored six runs in the fourth en route to completing the sweep.
Bats right-hander Daniel Wright (3-4, 4.91) took the loss, pitching four innings, allowing four hits, six runs, two home runs, walking one, and striking out two.
Durham's right-hander Jacob Faria (3-2, 4.73) earned the win, pitching five and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits, one run, walking five, and striking out seven.
The Bats got on the board early in the game as an RBI single by Jermaine Curtis brought in Tony Renda to bring Louisville ahead 1-0 in the first.
The Bulls scored six runs in the fourth with six consecutive two-out hits. The inning was highlighted by back-to-back home runs, with a three run home run by Taylor Motter and a solo shot from Jaff Decker, pushing Durham's lead to 6-1.
Louisville added two more runs in the eighth with a two run home run by Seth Mejias-Brean, but Durham held on to win 6-3.
The Bats will play start a three game series at Toledo tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Major League rehabber Tim Adleman (2-1, 3.60) will pitch for the Bats. The Mud Hens will counter with Buck Farmer (2-4, 4.82). This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
