
Austin Spurs Fall to Vipers 98-113

AUSTIN - The Austin Spurs lost to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, 98-113, at home on the front end of a back-to-back.
Four Spurs players scored in double figures led by two-way center Charles Bassey who posted 21 points and 13 rebounds. Jalen Adaway finished with 19 points and 7 rebounds, and Chaundee Brown Jr. chipped in 18 points to go with 7 boards.
The Spurs scored nine unanswered points to open the game and carried a 34-18 advantage into the second quarter. RGV responded, holding the Spurs to 17 second-quarter points to cut Austin's lead to four at halftime, 51-47.
RGV maintained momentum in the third as Trevor Hudgins drained back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Vipers their first lead of the game, 55-58, with 9:54 on the clock. The Vipers took a 91-76 lead into the final frame. RGV extended their lead to as much as 22 points to secure the win.
Rio Grande Valley's Darius Days recorded a double-double for the Vipers, finishing with 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Hudgins added 20 points and 5 assists.
