
AT&T MLS All-Star Festivities Kick off this Weekend

NEW YORK (Friday, July 22, 2011) - In the days leading up to the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game, Major League Soccer and its corporate partners will hold many events throughout the New York Metropolitan area. The events will showcase players from both the MLS All-Stars and their opponents, Manchester United, who will face each other in the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game to be held at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ, on Wednesday, July 27 (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2, Galavision, TSN).
Festivities begin today when members of the MLS All-Star team and MLS executives will visit the New York Stock Exchange and ring The Closing Bell.
Beginning on Saturday, July 23, and running through the All-Star Game, the AT&T MLS All-Star HUB at 82 Mercer in SoHo will be the center of all the activity surrounding the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. The HUB will be open to the public on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24, with private access to the MLS delegation Monday through Wednesday. Soccer fans can experience the excitement of the All-Star Game by connecting in the AT&T Mobile Lounge, creating All-Star branded photos in the Four Points by Sheraton Photo Booth, competing in Volkswagen & Castrol foosball tournaments, recharging with a Red Bull, purchasing the latest adidas All-Star apparel, winning hourly prizes with the MLS W.O.R.K.S. hourly sweepstakes or by kicking the ball around in an open play area.

Sunday, July 24
Manchester United & FC Harlem Soccer Clinic - On Sunday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Jacob H. Schiff soccer field (Amsterdam Ave. Between W. 136 St. And W. 138 St.), the Manchester United Soccer School will hold a soccer clinic for children from FC Harlem. Manchester United instructors will run drills and play games with children from the club whose mission is to use soccer as a platform to develop young leaders.
National Tequila Day Celebration - el Jimador invites soccer enthusiasts to celebrate National Tequila Day, this Sunday, July 24, at the AT&T MLS All-Star HUB from 3:00 - 6:00 pm with an exciting, free event for fans 21 and older. Consumers will have the opportunity to purchase a limited edition $724 el Jimador MVP Margarita Cup, sold in Tiffany & Co. goblets, to commemorate the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. Proceeds from the el Jimador MVP Margarita Cup will benefit a MLS W.O.R.K.S. program. In addition, three New York Red Bulls players will be on-hand to create their own margaritas alongside local NYC mixologists. Fans will then vote for their favorite margarita for a chance to win an autographed jersey from the MLS players.
Monday, July 25
Volkswagen & America SCORES Soccer Clinic - On Monday, July 25, Volkswagen will host a soccer clinic for youth from America SCORES (ages 5-12) at Pier 46 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET. Soccer drills will be led by MLS players and coaches from the New York Red Bulls Academy. The clinic will include a Q&A session with the players.
Tuesday, July 26
Community Refurbishment Event - Beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, MLS All-Stars and executives will join forces with The Home Depot associates, New York City Parks & Recreation, members of the Highbridge Pool and Recreation Center and students from Parsons The New School for Design to raise the Splash House Pavilion. Providing an outdoor changing, locker and shower area for more than 100,000 community members that use the facility, the project will also allow sports and fitness programming to continue year-round for approximately 20,000 children in the Washington Heights neighborhood. Volunteers will spend the day painting, cleaning-up and raising the pavilion while academy coaches from the New York Red Bulls and the Claudio Reyna Foundation conduct a clinic for approximately 100 local children.
Empire State Building Lighting - On Tuesday, July 26 at 3:00 pm ET, MLS All-Star and Manchester United players will join Empire State Building officials to "flip the switch" and light the world-famous icon's tower lights MLS (green, blue and white) and Manchester United (red) colors in anticipation of the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game the next night.
Wednesday, July 27
Soccer Celebration - On gameday, July 27, the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration will be held outside Red Bull Arena. The outdoor festival, beginning at 4 p.m., will feature interactive events for fans, soccer-themed games, sponsor giveaways, and more.
Hospital Visit - At 11:00 a.m. on July 27, members of the New York Red Bulls and MLS W.O.R.K.S. will team up with the Starlight Children's Foundation to unveil a new Starlight Fun Center(tm) mobile entertainment unit at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ.
ExtraTime Live from Red Bull Arena - Leading up to the game, beginning at 7:00 p.m., MLSsoccer.com will broadcast the 90-minute pregame show "ExtraTime Live" directly from Red Bull Arena. Greg Lalas, Jason Saghini and Simon Borg from ExtraTime Radio, will host the show that will feature special guest MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
National Anthem Singer - The game will kick-off with the singing of the National Anthem by Jarrod Spector. Spector is best known for his role as Frankie Valli on the Tony, Grammy and Oliver award-winning Broadway Musical, "Jersey Boys."
Allstate Viewing Part at South Street Seaport - If you are unable to make it to Red Bull Arena, the entire game will be shown live for up to 5,000 people at the Allstate Viewing Party at South Street Seaport from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.
The game festivities will kick off at 8:30 p.m. ET at Red Bull Arena and feature 19-time English and three-time European champion Manchester United against the MLS All-Stars. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2, Galavision, and TSN. It will also be televised in 104 countries worldwide.
