Atlanta Dream Acquire 2020 Pick from Dallas for Imani McGee Stafford

LANTA - The Atlanta Dream have finalized a trade that will send center Imani McGee-Stafford to the Dallas Wings in exchange for a 2020 third-round pick, the team announced Thursday.

The Dream's training camp roster now sits at 14 players with the additions of center Elizabeth Williams and forward Haley Peters, who were both late to camp due to overseas commitments. The final 12-player roster is due to the league on Thursday, May 23.

"We appreciate what Imani has brought to us in her short time here," Chris Sienko, Dream President and General Manager said. "We wish her well in Dallas."

McGee-Stafford was originally acquired by the Dream in a 2017 trade-deadline deal with the Chicago Sky. The fourth-year player averaged 2.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in 10.5 minutes of action for the Dream in 2018.

With the acquisition of the third-round pick, the Dream now have three picks in 2020, including its own first and third-round selections. The team traded away its 2020 second-round pick to Las Vegas in exchange for Nia Coffey earlier this offseason.

The Dream close out the preseason with a game against the Washington Mystics Friday evening beginning at 7 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center in Albany, Ga.

The Atlanta Dream, who is celebrating its 12th season in the WNBA in 2019, will play its home games in State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta. The Dream has qualified for the playoffs nine times, winning conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
