
Arkansas signs Florence, Breen released

The Los Angeles Angels signed outfielder Branden Florence to a minor league contract Sunday and assigned him to the Arkansas Travelers roster.
Florence, who has not played in 2009, spent the 2008 season with the Bridgeport Bluefish (Atlantic-Independent), where he batted .340 in 106 games. The 30-year-old has played 22 total games in Double-A with the Bowie Baysox (Eastern) and Reading Phillies (Eastern), batting 17-for-59 (.288) with five extra-base hits.
Arkansas outfielder Patrick Breen has been released by the Angels. Breen, 26, was batting .198 with two home runs, six RBIs and three stolen bases in 96 at-bats with the Travelers.
