Guelph Storm News Release
(GUELPH) The Guelph Storm announced today that Anthony Nigro is the Grand & Toy Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 21st.Â
Anthony was in on every Guelph goal Friday night, scoring once and recording three helpers in the Storm's only game, a 4-3 overtime win, on opening weekend. The Vaughan native scored the Storm's first regular season goal of the 2008-09 campaign on the powerplay in the first and helped set up the next three, including the game winner in overtime. Anthony was awarded with the first star of the game for his play and currently leads his team in scoring with four points in one game played.
Next up, Nigro and the rest of the Storm prepare for a busy weekend playing three games in three days. On Friday night at the Sleeman Centre, the Storm take on the Erie Otters for a 7:30 pm start before travelling to Plymouth to face off against the Whalers on Saturday. The London Knights come to town for a 2:00 pm start on Sunday afternoon to cap off the weekend.
