Anaheim Ducks Sign Sam Carrick to Two-Year Contract Extension

SAN DIEGO - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed center Sam Carrick to a two-year, two-way contract extension through the 2018-19 season. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.
Carrick, 25 (2/4/92), has collected 1-12 points with 13 penalty minutes (PIM) in 19 career NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Acquired from Chicago with Spencer Abbott in exchange for Kenton Helgesen and a seventh-round selection in the 2019 NHL Draft on Mar. 1, 2017, Carrick has also recorded 55-84139 points with a +14 rating and 440 PIM in 264 career American Hockey League (AHL) games with San Diego (2016-17), Rockford (2016-17) and Toronto (2012-16).
Selected by Toronto in the fifth round (144th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft, Carrick earned 14-2539 points with 105 PIM in 72 games with San Diego and Rockford last season. Following his acquisition from Chicago in March, Carrick collected 11 points (3-811) in 15 regular-season games with the Gulls. The 6-0, 207-pound forward also appeared in 10 Calder Cup Playoff games with San Diego, ranking second on the team in postseason scoring (4-37) and co-leading in goals.
