Americans To Select Ninth In Annual Draft

Kennewick, WA â The Tri-City Americans select ninth overall in the 14th annual WHL Bantam Draft on Thursday, April 29th. The draft takes place in Calgary, Alberta beginning at 8 am PDT and fans can follow the entire draft by visiting www.amshockey.com.
The WHL Bantam Draft gives the clubs in the league their first opportunity to identify players born in 1989 and add them to their 50 player protected lists.
At the end of the 2003-04 season, the Americans 24 man roster featured six players (Shawn Belle 2000, Ian McDonald 2000, Brett Festerling 2001, Logan Stephenson 2001, Aaron Boogaard 2001 and Carey Price 2002) that were first round WHL Bantam Draft picks.
