American Hockey League Announces Schedules for Calder Cup Conference Finals

AHL ANNOUNCES SCHEDULES FOR CALDER CUP CONFERENCE FINALS

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League today announced the schedule for the third round of the 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs.

In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Providence Bruins (top development team of the Boston Bruins) will face the Syracuse Crunch (Tampa Bay Lightning) beginning Friday in Providence. Both teams advanced to the conference finals with Game 7 wins in their respective division final series tonight.

Providence is heading to the conference finals for the first time since 2009; Syracuse will be making the third appearance in the conference finals in franchise history, and its first since 2013.

In the Western Conference Finals, the San Jose Barracuda (San Jose Sharks) are set to take on the Grand Rapids Griffins (Detroit Red Wings) beginning Saturday. Both teams closed out their second-round series in five games.
