Sioux Falls mashed 19 hits for 16 runs behind home runs from LF Ben Van Iderstine and 2B Damon Lessler for a 16-4 victory against Sioux City. Scoring three runs in the first, one in the second and seven in the third, Sioux Falls got out to an early 11-2 lead and cruised behind starting pitcher Kevin Cheppenko. Eight of the nine Sioux Falls starters had at least one hit, and four of them had three hits each. Sioux City posted 11 hits of their own, led by LF Jorge Moreno, who was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and C Zach Goldberg, who hit a solo home run.

It was starting pitcher Jarrett Gardner's night to shine as he dazzled with a complete game, three-hit shutout in a 6-0 win against St. Joe. The win completed a three-game sweep and was Lincoln's twelfth win in a row. Gardner struck out 11 and didn't walk a batter in a fine 123-pitch outing. He was backed by a 4-for-5 performance from 2B Josh Patton that included a double and two RBI. The Saltdogs went off for 17 hits in the game and ran their record to 18-4, atop the North Division by a slim half of a game over Sioux Falls.

Fort Worth 15, Shreveport 11

A Sunday night slugfest went to Fort Worth after a game that saw 26 runs and 29 hits result in a 15-11 Fort Worth win. The game looked gloomy for Fort Worth after Shreveport staked itself to a 7-0 lead in the fourth inning, but Fort Worth rebounded in a big way with 11 runs in the bottom of the inning. RF Carlos Adolfo had a great day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with four RBI, three runs and three walks. Shreveport outhit Fort Worth 15-14 behind a 3-for-5 performance from DH Chad Gambill, but four Fort Worth runs in the bottom of the seventh proved to be enough insurance for the Cats.
