MONTGOMERY, AL - Three Mobile hurlers combined on a four-hit shutout as the BayBears beat the Biscuits, 4-0, on Tuesday at Riverwalk Stadium.

Pitching dominated early as both Mobile starter Hector Ambriz and Biscuits' starter Aneury Rodriguez worked scoreless into the fifth inning.

Rodriguez appeared on track to record another easy inning in the fifth, retiring the first two BayBears, but Chris Rahl connected for his second home run of the season to left field with two outs to give Mobile the first lead of the day, 1-0. Rodriguez followed by walking Mark Hallberg, who scored on an RBI-double from Pedro Ciriaco for a 2-0 lead.

Rodriguez (0-3) departed after the inning, having conceded two earned runs on four hits and striking out three. He took the tough-luck loss to drop his third straight decision.

Ambriz (2-1) continued to cruise, and turned in six scoreless innings to earn his second win of the season. Ambriz allowed just three hits while striking out six and walking none.

Brandon Mann allowed the BayBears two more runs in his second inning of relief in the seventh. Yunesky Sanchez sparked the uprising with a leadoff single. Rahl forced him at second base, but scored as Hallberg followed with a triple into the right-field corner. Ciriaco capped the scoring at 4-0 with an RBI-single to plate Hallberg.

Clay Zavada and Daniel Schlereth finished the fourth shutout of the season for the BayBears. Zavada struck out four while retiring all six batters he faced over the seventh and eighth innings, while Schlereth worked a scoreless ninth.

Game three of the series is schedule for Wednesday night at Riverwalk Stadium at 7:05 PM. RHP Heath Rollins (1-0, 0.82) will make the start for Montgomery against RHP Barry Enright (0-0, 2.70) for Mobile.
