CRITICAL THREE GAMES STRETCH: It's a busy weekend for the Amarillo Bulls with their last three games in three nights of the season. The Bulls host the IceRays on Friday and Saturday and then visit Odessa Jackalopes on Sunday at 5:11 pm at Ector County Coliseum. That Sunday contest is the final game in hand the Bulls have on their opposition.
WHAT IS AT STAKE: Wins and points are at a premium for the Amarillo Bulls as they trail the Corpus Christi IceRays by nine points for the fourth and final playoff spot in the South Division. Once this weekend has concluded each team will have eight games left in the regular season.
WEEKEND REWIND: The Amarillo Bulls collected just one point in a pair of games in Topeka last weekend. The Bulls fell 3-2 in overtime and then 4-1 in the second one, while the Corpus Christi IceRays were beaten twice by the Odessa Jackalopes 5-3 and 4-2.
ACROSS THE SOUTH: It's a busy weekend in the South Division with all teams in action. The Lone Star Brahmas visit the Odessa Jackalopes in a battle of 2nd and 3rd place teams, while the Shreveport Mudbugs entertain the Topeka RoadRunners at George's Pond, Hirsch Coliseum.
STATS ETC: It's hard to believe but the IceRays and the Bulls have combined for 29 games that have gone beyond regulation time. The IceRays have eight wins (7 OT, 1 Shootout), while the Bulls have 4 (three overtime, 1 shootout). Each team has had nine one-goal wins this season, and the IceRays have won six games when the out-come of a game has been three goals.
