November 6, 2013 - Canadian Football League (CFL) - Montreal Alouettes News Release

Montreal, November 6, 2013 - The Canadian Football League announced on Wednesday its 2013 East Division All-Stars and the Alouettes lead the division with a league-high nine selections. Divisional All-Stars were chosen by 70 voters comprised of Football Reporters of Canada (FRC) members and CFL head coaches.

Receiver: S.J. Green (3rd selection)

East Division All-Star: 2011, 2012 and 2013

Green recorded his third-straight 1,000-yard season in 2013 while also finding the end zone for a personal best 13 times, placing him first among CFL receivers in that category. He caught passes from four different QBs this season and was on the receiving end of all three of Troy Smith's, Tanner Marsh's and Josh Neiswander's first career CFL touchdowns.

Tackle: Josh Bourke (6th selection)

East Division All-Star: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013

Bourke continues to anchor an offensive line that has allowed only 41 sacks this season -- good for second-fewest in the CFL. The left tackle has been a constant -- both physically and in his play -- within an Alouettes offence that has undergone a number of changes since training camp, both on the line and under centre.

Linebacker: Chip Cox (5th selection)

East Division All-Star: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013

The eight-year veteran amassed a league-leading 115 defensive tackles this season, breaking Tracy Gravely's team record 110 set in 1996. On the strength of four multiple-sack games this year, he finished the regular season with 12 sacks -- good for first among Alouettes and fourth in the CFL.

Defensive End: John Bowman (4th selection)

East Division All-Star : 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013

Bowman became the Alouettes' all-time sack leader in 2013, ending the regular season with 71 career sacks after passing teammate Anwar Stewart on September 21 with his team-record breaking 67th sack against Hamilton. He completed the season with 11 sacks, good for second among Alouettes. Since first signing with Montreal in 2006, Bowman has recorded over 30 defensive tackles in six consecutive seasons, beginning in 2008.

Defensive Back: Jerald Brown (2nd selection)

East Division All-Star: 2010 and 2013

Brown had a pair of memorable outings against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2013, recovering a fumble and returning it 55 yards for a touchdown in Week 8, and snagging a one-handed interception in Week 14. His five interceptions this year also tie a career best for the Alouettes defensive back.

Defensive Back: Billy Parker (1st selection)

East Division All-Star: 2013

Parker suited up for all 18 regular season games in 2013 and his 57 defensive tackles this year were a career-best for the five-year CFL veteran, in addition to recording a pick and five knockdowns. He amassed five defensive tackles in a single game twice in 2013, plus a season-high seven in Week 3 against Calgary.

Cornerback: Geoff Tisdale (1st selection)

East Division All-Star: 2013

Tisdale forced the team's first turnover of 2013 after intercepting a pass from Buck Pierce at Investors Group Field as Montreal opened the season with a road win over Winnipeg. He also tallied 54 defensive tackles and a league-best seven interceptions in his first year with the Alouettes. Tisdale's best game was a Week 11 outing in which he returned a fumble 47 yards for the score and also recorded an interception.

Safety: Mike Edem (1st selection)

East Division All-Star: 2013

Edem was Montreal's top pick in the 2013 CFL draft (third overall), immediately earning the starting safety position at camp. The 24-year-old recorded a personal-best eight defensive tackles on two separate occasions this year, completing the season with 49 defensive tackles and five sacks.
