Adding a Scoring Punch

Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce the signing of forward Glendon Cominetti (Come-in-etti) for the upcoming 2002-2003 season.

The K-Wings received the rights to Cominetti by drafting him with their first selection in the UHL Dispersal Draft in June. The native of Surrey, British Columbia, had a great sophomore season as a professional, as he finished the year with 28 goals and 22 assists. Cominetti also finished the season on a high note, as he concluded the year tied for a league leading 4 game current scoring streak.

"Glendon has proven he can produce at this level," said Director of Hockey Operations/Head Coach Mark Kaufman. "He was a 50-point scorer last season, and hopefully he can have the same success this year."

Cominetti's offensive output should mesh nicely with an already deep group of forwards that Kalamazoo has signed. Besides Glendon, earlier in the off-season the K-Wings signed forwards Mark Lawrence, Justin Cardwell, Kurt Miller, and Mike Ford, all of whom are no strangers to finding the back of the net.

The signing of Cominetti gives the K-Wings 20 players signed for the 2002-2003 season. The 29th season of hockey in Kalamazoo will start on October 4th, as the K-Wings host the Fort Wayne Komets in the first of two preseason games between the teams.

Season Tickets for the upcoming 2002-2003 season of K-Wings hockey are currently on sale by calling the Kalamazoo Wings at (269) 349-9772. Fans are also encouraged to inquire about the K-Wings "Friends and Family" program, which allows season ticket holders to save money on season ticket prices.
