Aces Team up with Regeneration Vision Center and Market Resolution to Support Human Trafficking Survivors
January 4, 2022 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) - Las Vegas Aces News Release
Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Aces, Regeneration Vision Center (RVC) and Market Resolution are teaming up to provide services and support to human trafficking survivors.
RVC fills a critical gap in service to survivors and victims by empowering them to financial self-sufficiency, self-actualization and healing through meaningful work. During this program, they 'learn while they earn' through the only dedicated and sponsored vocational job center in Nevada supporting sex trafficking survivors. RVC collaborates with residential recovery and foster-care programs for referrals and the provision of wrap-around services with other community partners who provide food, shelter, transportation and other needed services. Upon program completion, RVC assists survivors with job and career placement.
The International Justice Mission Outcomes Validation Study indicated that the main issues survivors are faced with includes insufficient education and work skills, lack of confidence in themselves and their actions. Typically sex trafficking survivors are marginalized and unemployable, primarily due to criminal history. Furthermore, studies indicate that it takes 3-5 years after leaving the sex trade for survivors to successfully re-enter society.
There are several ways organizations and individuals can assist to serve these marginalized and exploited humans, including financial donations, personal donations, household item and volunteering.
