Aces Drop Game 2 of WNBA Semifinals at Washington, 103-91
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Washington's Emma Meesseman scored 30 points, and the Mystic shot 52.1 percent as a team to win 103-91 Thursday evening, and take a two-games-to-none lead over Las Vegas in the best-three-out-of-five WNBA Semifinals series.
First Quarter (Mystics 30, Aces 26)
Las Vegas led 9-4 with 1:35 gone in the first, but Washington scored 10 of the next 12 points to go up 14-11.
Second Quarter (Mystics 50, Aces 49)
The Mystics scored the last two points of the first quarter, and 11 of the first 16 of the second to take a 10-point lead, 41-31, with 6:17 remaining in the half.
Washington extended its lead to 11, 50-39, but the Aces scored 10 straight points to close out the half.
Third Quarter (Mystics 80, Aces 69)
Las Vegas scored the first four points of the third quarter as well, extending its run to 14-0
The Aces led 64-61 with 5:25 remaining in the period, but the Mystics scored 14 straight points to go up 75-64.
Fourth Quarter (Mystics 103, Aces 91)
The Mystics' lead vacillated between 8 and 16 throughout the fourth.
Washington made 52.1 percent (38 of 73) of its shots from the field, while the Aces made 49.3 percent (35 of 71) of theirs.
Las Vegas made 4 of 10 three-pointers, while the Mystics made 8 of 20.
The Aces committed 13 turnovers which Washington turned into 7 points, while the Mystics committed 6 miscues, which Las Vegas turned into 7 points.
Las Vegas outscored Washington 12 to 4 in second chance points.
The Aces outscored the Mystics 46 to 28 in points in the paint.
Washington made 19 of 20 free throws, and Las Vegas went 17 for 19.
Kelsey Plum has scored in double figures in each of her first three postseason games (19 points). She added a career-postseason-high 10 assists or her first playoff double-double.
Liz Cambage has four double-doubles in four career postseason games (23 points, 10 rebounds).
Jackie Young scored in double figures for the first time in her playoff career (13 points).
