Aaron Swanson Announces Commitment to University of Saint Thomas
ODENTON, MD - Thursday afternoon, Aaron Swanson announced his commitment to play Division 1 hockey at the University of St. Thomas, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Swanson came to the Black Bears as part of a late-season trade with Springfield right before the deadline in January. Though he didn't have a long career with the Black Bears, he made an immediate impact on the ice. In his 12 games with the Black Bears, Swanson notched 4 goals, 5 assists, and 2 of his goals were game-winners. Head Coach and General Manager, Clint Mylymok had the following to say about Aaron and his commitment:
"Aaron is one of the hardest working kids we had this year, and we are excited to follow him on the next step of his hockey and academic journey. Aaron is a heck of a hockey player, and as competitive as they come. We wish him all the best."
The University of St. Thomas recently announced that they will be moving up from NCAA Division 3 to Division 1 in the 2021-2022 season. Swanson is the thirteenth Black Bear from the 2019-2020 season to make a commitment to play NCAA hockey.
