Madison, WI - Paul Hoenecke hit a game-winning ninth inning home run to cap a three run comeback for the Green Bay Bullfrogs. With the 6-5 victory on Friday in Madison the 'Frogs stay in first place by a half game over the La Crosse Loggers who also won on Friday. Green Bay scored three runs to tie the game in the eighth inning to set up Hoenecke's heroics.

The 'Frogs trailed the entire game until the eighth inning when Jacob May led the inning off with a walk. Hoenecke reached on a two base error when the left fielder Justin Parr dropped a fly ball. The next hitter was Duncan McAlpine who snapped a 0-14 slump with an RBI single to put runners on the corners for Phillip Ervin. The Bullfrogs leader in RBI hit a double down the left field line to score Hoenecke and bring Green Bay to within one run. Eric Peterson was then intentionally walked to load the bases with one out. Andy Hunter entered for Steven Halcomb as a pinch-hitter. The Bullfrogs as a team were hitting just .181 in pinch-hit situations before Hunter hit a single to left. The first run scored easily but Ervin was thrown out at the plate by a perfect throw from the left fielder Just Parr to keep the game tied.

The Mallards almost came right back in the bottom of the eighth inning. Mark Garcia, beginning his third inning of relief, gave up a lead off single to Willie Argo who was bunted to second. Argo then went to third on a wild pitch with only one out. Garcia would strike out the next two hitters to strand the potential winning run.

With two outs in the ninth Hoenecke hit his second home run of the game with a high fly ball that landed in the right field bullpen to give Green Bay the 6-5 lead. Adam Cimber earned his ninth save of the year which is tied for the league lead. The lead-off hitter reached in the ninth against Cimber on an error but was thrown out trying to steal second base by the catcher Hoenecke.

Drew Bradshaw started and took the no decision for Green Bay. He gave up the game's first run when he loaded the bases after two outs. Bradshaw hit Parr to make it a 1-0 game. In the fourth the Mallards took their first three run lead of the game on a safety squeeze before a triple from Parr to make it 3-0.

Green Bay scored for the first time in the fifth on an RBI double from Nick Stein who extends his hitting streak to six games. Green Bay pulled to within one on Hoenecke's first home run of the day in the sixth inning.

Madison picked up a run in the sixth inning on an RBI double from Parr. It was his third two-out RBI of the game. The Mallards took their second three-run lead in the seventh with a single tally.
