Syracuse Chiefs Announce Details for Pre-Game Fan Batting Practice, April 28th

SYRACUSE, NY - Syracuse Chiefs fans will have the unique opportunity to take batting practice on the field before the game on Saturday, April 28th as part of Super Saturday. Fans will be able to take batting practice from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. that day. The only requirement is that fans must purchase a ticket for the game that day in order to participate.

"We know fans love coming down on the field and getting that unique experience and we are always looking for new ways to give the fans what they want," said Jason Smorol, general manager. "Taking batting practice just like the professionals is an exclusive opportunity and we can't wait to share this with our fans."

Fans who want to take batting practice should plan to arrive early to get in line when the gates open at 10 a.m. Each fan will receive a voucher to redeem to take batting practice on the field upon entry. Each fan will have one (1) turn at bat and will receive a total of five (5) pitches. Fans will be able to take their turn on a first come, first serve basis. Vouchers do not guarantee fans an opportunity to take batting practice. Batting practice will end promptly at 11:45 a.m. in order to prepare the field for the game that day.

All fans that take batting practice will be required to sign a waiver. Fans under the age of 18 years of age will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Batting helmets, balls and bats will be provided for fans to use during batting practice.

The Chiefs will take on the Rochester Red Wings at 1:05 p.m. on this Super Saturday. After the game, fans are welcome to come back down to the field for Meet the Chiefs. During Meet the Chiefs, fans can meet their favorite players and receive autographs.
