4-Run 7th Caps Comeback Victory in Bradenton

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Hoy Jun Park hit a go-ahead, three-run double in the seventh and the Tampa Tarpons (9-9) went on to defeat the Bradenton Marauders (11-7), 6-4, in the series-opener on Monday night at LECOM Park.

The Marauders jumped out to an early lead when Jared Oliva tripled and scored on a single by Bligh Madris in the first. Trae Arbet added at two-out, RBI single in the second to give Bradenton a 2-0 lead.

After allowing the hit by Arbet, Tampa starter Adonis Rosa retired 13 of the next 14 batters he faced. The right-hander retired nine-straight batters following a two-out single in the third by Arden Pabst.

Tampa struggled to score until breaking through against Bradenton starter James Marvel in the fifth. Diego Castillo , Francisco Diaz and Angel Aguilar lined three-straight singles to begin the frame, with Aguilar driving home Castillo while getting thrown out stretching for second. Marvel struck out the next two hitters to escape.

Estevan Florial led off the sixth with a single, extending his hitting streak to six games. After advancing on a groundout by Brandon Wagner , Florial scored on a game-tying RBI single by Isiah Gilliam .

Marvel made a quality start, yielding two earned runs on seven hits in six innings. The right-hander walked three, struck out four and threw 49 of 90 pitches for strikes.

RHP Angel German (L, 0-1) took over for Marvel in the seventh and the Tarpons rallied for four runs to take a 6-2 lead. Castillo walked, Diaz singled and Aguilar reached on a hit-by-pitch, loading the bases with no outs. Park cleared the bags with a double and later scored on a single by Thairo Estrada .

Hunter Owen homered to begin the bottom of the seventh against Rosa. Two outs later, Arbet reached on a hit-by-pitch and RHP Chase Hodson entered in relief. A base hit by Oliva put runners on the corners and a wild pitch allowed Arbet to score.

Rosa (W, 2-1) allowed four earned runs on six hits in six and two-third innings, walking one while striking out six. The righty threw 63 of 99 pitches for strikes in his longest outing of the season.

RHP Matt Frawley (SV, 1) tallied four strikeouts while stranding a two-out walk in the eighth and a one-out double in the ninth, notching his first save of the season.

Park (1-for-4, 2B, BB, 3RBI, R, SB) is tied for the league-lead with 13 walks. Diaz (2-for-3, BB, R) and Alexander Palma (2-for-4, 2B) had multi-hit games.

The series continues on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. RHP Trevor Stephan (1-0, 1.13) will get the start against LHP Oddy Nunez (1-0, 2.31). Live play-by-play audio of the entire series will be available on the Tarpons Radio Network.
