Mayhem Sign Ohio University's Jake Faiella to ATO

MACON, GA - The Macon Mayhem and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kerr announced on Monday the signing of defenseman Jake Faiella to an amateur tryout.
Faiella, 24, makes his way to Macon after completing his collegiate career at Ohio University of the ACHA level. The 6-2, 200-pound defenseman had seven goals, 17 assists, 24 points and a plus-24 rating over 37 games in his senior season. In 133 career ACHA games for the Bobcats, Faiella had 22 goals, 50 assists and 72 points. The Hinckly, Ohio native played two seasons for the Michigan Warriors of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) prior to his collegiate career and had 21 points in 110 games.
In other transaction news, the Mayhem have placed defenseman Jarrett Kup on team suspension, allowing him to return to Curry College to finish his senior year of school. In eight games for the Mayhem, Kup has four assists and a plus-one rating.
The team has also released defenseman Doug Rose from his amateur tryout, as he will return to Stevenson University to finish his senior year. Rose suited up in five games for the Mayhem.
